There are a number of home remedies for acne that many acne suffers have tried time and time again. But know that just because a home remedy for acne worked for a friend doesn’t mean that it will work for you. This is because there are different causes with different degrees of severity, as well as the fact that everyone’s physiology is different. If there was a one-size-fits-all treatment, then no one would have acne.
So why should you even give home remedies for acne a try?
Well, you never know when you may find your exact cure for acne. Plus, home remedies consist of mostly natural methods, which are usually quite safe. As a matter of fact, natural acne cures are the safest treatment methods you will find.
Here are some natural acne cures from home that you can try when looking for your specific cure for acne:
- The dried orange peel method – You can combine orange peels with rose water and apply to your acne once or twice per day. Both inflammation and pain are reduced.
- Aloe Vera – Aloe Vera is notorious for treating wounds and is also helpful in the treatment of acne. You can gently massage the Aloe Vera onto the affected area for about two minutes. You can then use cold water to rinse it off and you will notice that inflammation is instantly reduced. This makes the acne less prominent in appearance. This works because Aloe Vera has a cooling effect. It also helps fight infection that may be present. Furthermore, the cooling effect in addition to the cold water will relieve a lot of the pain.
- Cinnamon and honey – Just before you sleep, create a mixture of cinnamon and honey and apply it to your face. Make sure the mixture dries before laying your head on your pillow so that you do not make a mess and so that pests, such as ants, don’t decide to crawl into bed with you. Wash it off with cold water in the morning as soon as you wake up.
- Basil leaf method – Take 10 to 15 basil leaves and boil them for 8 to 10 minutes. After you are finished boiling, add two tea bags then turn the heat back on for 2 more minutes. You can then store the mixture in a sealed container and place in the refrigerator until completely cooled. Once cooled, apply the mixture to your face. Make sure you put the mixture on with a cotton ball and then wash off after 20 minutes.
- Lemon juice – Some say that lemon juice is the perfect cure for acne in that it is rich in Vitamin C and potassium. Both of these nutrients build the immune system and in addition to the citric acid that it contains, applying lemon juice to the face gives it an antiseptic quality. With the ability that lemon juice has to rejuvenate and defend itself from becoming contaminated with bacteria, it can speed up the process of new skin cell growth when applied to the face.
All of these methods are safe and they are natural, giving you your choice of which home remedies for acne are your chosen methods. And you never know…you may find your personal natural acne cure.
